Tired hotel but ok for short stay

We booked this hotel as it was relatively cheap as we were only staying for 3 nights and knew we’d only need it for sleeping only. The hotel itself is in a decent location with restaurants close by and taxis readily available. Decor is extremely tired and dated with rooms very basic - although our room did have small kitchen with fridge and beverage facilities. Rooftop pool was quite nice if small, with towels provided, but a sever lack of sunbeds meant you had to lie on marbled floor until a bed came available. Upon arrival everything appeared good. Luggage taken to room, reception and surrounding seating areavery nice. Took the lift to room 603 and oh dear. Room fixtures very dated, some of which were broken. The bathroom had seen better days and that's ok but there's no excuse for dirt and dirty it was, all around the marble surrounding the sink, wet on the floor behind the toilet, the shower hose was disgusting, as was the shower head. I started unpacking and realised the slippers in the wardrobe had been well worn - yuk!! I popped out on the balcony for a look - a decent size overlooking the street - only to find an ashtray full of dimps and nowhere to sit. Couldn't even take a chair from the room as that was on wheels. We were only staying for 2 nights so decided maybe we could put up with it. I mo error the bin in the bathroom and some beasties crawled out. We went down to reception to report that the room was really not satisfactory and were offered un upgrade. We visited the upgraded room - very nice indeed but it was still dirty si we stayed put the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts reasonably good - apart from the dirty walls in the "inside section". Waiting staff were lovely. The swimming g pool area was also very nice but could have done with more loungers and seats. Other guests were pleasant and willing of share so that was a plus. We didn't take advantage of the washing machine hines/driers - another positive. Shuttle service to the MRT was handy as the surrounding area was difficult to negotiate with very uneven pavements. Upon checking out we tried to call reception but the phone didn't work. Perhaps we were unfortunate with the rooms offered as other guests we spoke with seemed to have newly refurbished and clean rooms. We, however, would not recommend.

Central location close to lots of bars, restaurants, shops, train and metro but very quiet considering all of that.

Stayed here for a few nights on arrival in Bangkok prior to moving on to Chiang Mai. Central location, just 5 minutes walk to bars, restaurants etc and less than 10 minutes from SkyTrain and Metro. Was very quiet considering. Room was well equipped and breakfast was good. It would have been good to have a bar up by the rooftop pool

Great hotel, but some working points

The hotel is great. Nice rooms, not so far from the malls. However, the price is a bit high in comparison with other hotels in the neighborhood. I normally stay at Sukhumvit 18 where the price is remarkable lower and has more to offer. But again the rooms are clean and huge. Further I had to pay for an early check in 1000b. I arrived at 10.30 and the room was ready already. In function of customer satisfaction I would have given the key as a commercial plus point. I know check in time is 14pm and this rule exists to make sure housekeeping gets the room cleaned but when the room is ready just give the key. It will improve customer satisfaction.

Old but clean hotel with limited staff!

It's an old hotel with limited staff. The rooms were spacious and clean though. The breakfast has limited but tasty items, but the restaurant only serves breakfast. You have to order food from outside if you need anything after 11am. Location is close to public transport and you can walk to Terminal 21 mall but not really located close to shopping and night life. Now coming to the worst part - we reached the hotel at 1.30 as check -in was at 2 and we were told that the hotel is overbooked! We were offered an upgraded room in a nearby hotel that was available for a cheaper price online and had limited reviews. We refused to go there and then they said we will ask some other guests to move there and gave us a room in 30 mins. Overall it all sounded very shady!
